The profit and loss report

In Sage One Cashbook, to measure the performance of your business, you can run the Profit and Loss report.

The Profit and Loss report shows the performace of your business over a specific period of time. It shows the values for sales, purchases, expenses and overheads for the chosen period, and also shows the resulting gross profit or loss, and net profit or loss values.

You can also view an activity report for each category on the Profit and Loss report. This shows the details of each transaction in the category for the specified period of time.

If required, you can choose to run the report to PDF, which you can print or save to your PC, or export the values as a comma-separated values (CSV) file, which you can open with Microsoft Excel.

To run the report

  • 1. Summary > Profit and Loss Report.
  • 2. Enter the dates you want to run the report from and to.
  • 3. Download report > choose one of the following options:
  • Printable PDF – This option opens the Profit and Loss report as a PDF. Open your browser File menu then choose to print or save the page.
  • Export to CSV file – Depending on your Internet browser, the file either downloads automatically to your Downloads folder or you may receive a prompt asking you to save the file to your PC.

You’ve now run the Profit and Loss report.

To run the activity report

  • 1. Summary > Profit and Loss Report.
  • 2. Enter the dates you want to run the report from and to.
  • 3. Click the category that you want to view more information about.
  • 4. Download report > choose one of the following options:
  • Printable PDF – This option opens the activity report as a PDF. Open your browser File menu then choose to print or save the page.
  • Export to CSV file – Depending on your Internet browser, the file either downloads automatically to your Downloads folder or you may receive a prompt asking you to save the file to your PC.

You’ve now run the activity report.
