Reason for error

The user credentials entered inSage Corporation Tax do not match HMRC records.

Solution

Try to access the HMRC website at http://www.gateway.gov.uk/ using the user ID and password entered at Computation Preview> Generate Submission Files.

If you are unable to log in

Contact HMRC Online Services helpdesk on 0300 2003 600.

If you are able to log in

  1. Check that the client appears on your corporation tax clients list.
  2. Check that the Company Registration Number entered at Company Information is the same as that # appearing for the company on your Gateway account.
  3. Check that the Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) entered at Company Information is the same as that appearing for the company on your Gateway account.

If any of the above information has been incorrectly entered in Corporation Tax, then enter the correct information and try again to file the return.
